10-Minute Margherita Pita Bread Pizzas
One word: PIZZZAAAA! Pizza is my biggest downfall when it comes to eating healthy. I love it with all my heart. So when I’m craving it (ahem….e’ry day…), these 10-Minute Margherita Pita Bread Pizzas are a delicious and healthy WIN!
I think I can totally blame my childhood upbringing for my pizza addiction. It’s literally my favorite food EVER (with doughnuts as a super close runner up). Every Friday night my sister and I would come home from school and we would order delivery pizza while watching movies all evening. DEFINITELY not healthy pizza! Thankfully these 10-Minute Margherita Pita Bread Pizzas are here to save the day.
What You Need to Make Pita Bread Pizzas
As in literally, 10 minutes, y’all! All you need is some delicious Pita Bread, tomato sauce, and toppings to your hearts content. These are basically the lazy girl version of the Spinach Pesto & Goat Cheese Individual Pizzas.
I also added a little bit of crushed red pepper and ground pine nuts to these pita bread pizzas, which took the recipe to ANOTHER LEVEL. If you’re feeling adventurous, I recommend adding these!
How to Make Pita Bread Pizzas in 3 Easy Steps
- Spread the pitas with tomato sauce
- Top with desired toppings (see my recipe below)
- Bake in the oven on a foil lined tray until heated through and the cheese is melted
These 10-Minute Margherita Pita Bread Pizzas are so delicious and easy!
I love this pizza because not only is it addicting, delicious, and tastes just like cheat meal pizza (yeah, that’s a thing in my life), but it’s a great “we’re completely out of groceries and are scraping the fridge clean” type of meal.
You can basically add any toppings you want! Chicken, pineapple, spinach, different types of cheeses……you call the shots! And it’s still delish. And healthy. And a TOTAL WIN!
Top Tips For Making Pita Bread Pizzas
- Leftovers taste great, store them in the fridge and reheat or enjoy at room temperature the next day
- Get creative with toppings, add your favorite veggies or some red pepper flakes & fresh chili for a spicy kick
- No mozzarella? you could use cheddar or any good melting cheese you have
- Always use fresh basil as it has much more flavor than dried
Ready to make the easiest “go-to” healthy pizza of your life?
P.S: These little pizzas are delicious! I ate 2 of them, and my husband ate….like….5. You might want to make a couple more than the amount in this recipe. 😉 Just sayin’!
